I watched a movie. A movie which made by people. People from all around the world. People like us, and they made a video about one day in their life.

This video made me think. Think about my life, think about the people I surrounded by, the poeple I love, the people I miss.
Life is simple, and we are all the same, we all want the same, we all search for happiness. Some people find it in money, some people in family, some in love, but everybody wants the same.
To be happy. And we're all afraid of something.

New York..New York...the city which never sleeps

It's not beautiful, it's New York

We went to New york for Thanksgiving with my friend Nina. :)

The bus trip took 5 hours, and we arrived in the afternoon on Thanksgiving day, the last Thursday in November.The weather was really nice, and when we stepped out from the bus station to the street, we felt amazed. The buildings are huge and tall the roads were closed because the macy's parade. The people were heading home, because the parade just ended.

First we went to a reastaurant, a really special restaurant. The weiters and weitresses were singing while they werved the food. And our friend - with whom we stayed in New York - said that if these waiters or waitresses sing good, they could get in to the Broadway. I enjoyed the food, it was a special Thanksgiving meal with turkey mash potatoes and fillings and we drank a 'black and white' milk shakes and when we were almost finished our meal, one of the waitress sang the New York, New York song. It was the best ending to our meal.

After we unpacked our suitcase at our friends place we went to see the Time Square at night. It was bright, with all the screens, it looked like it's morning. There were lot of people, but compare how many were on Sunday when we left, it was nothing. The best way to describe it is that the people were buzzing there like a bugs around a night light. Than we decided to go to the Empire State Building, to see the amazing view to the city. 

Next day we went to the Liberty Island to see the Statue of Liberty. We got there with a little boat and the view was amazing to the city from the island. New York has two different faces, one at daytime, one at nighttime. Daytime it's a little bit grey, and looks simple, you have the feeling, there's nothing special about it, but at nighttime it comes alive, with the lights and with the people everywhere. Most of them are just tourists, about 10 percent are New Yorkers it says. At night you have a feeling that this city is the city of opportunities and possibilities and you can live your life and do whatever you want to do. You feel that everything's possible.

We went to the Central Park, and for our surprize, there were a coule who just got merried in the Park in front the people. There were almost nobody else, just the two of them and their two friends, the photographer and a priest. I felt so emotional, watch them get together and make this engagement for their life, to say to each other that they'll be there for each other in good and in bad times, and they'll live happily ever after. I believed it when I saw them. It felt good.

After four busy days we went back to the bus station, we were exhausted and we both thought that was enough and we were ready to go back home and be in our bed again and just get ready to go back to our simple everyday life but all the time when we think back on those days we feel that we're glad that we could see both side of New York.

Last night

was so much fun. :)

We went to a bar, which wasn't as good as I expected but there was a bar not too far from there, people were dacing, so we decided to go inside.

It was unforgetable to dance to live music there was a good band and they're playing live music till 2 in the morning. :)

It's been a long time

since I wrote the last post on my blog. So it's time to write a little bit about what happened in the last few weeks. I started to go out more often, we have a meeting once in every month with the other au pairs, and I went to pubs, and bars with Nina. :) I started school too, I'm taking English classes on every Saturday, yesterday was my second class.

Maybe I could start to wirte about how was my first Halloween here. :)

It was last weekend (it seems it was more than a week ago) so Nina came over on Friday, and we went to the cinema, we watched Crazy, stupid love, it was just one of those girly movies with some jokes, I liked it. :) And after that we went to an Irish pub which is just like 2 minutes walk from the cinema, on the other side of the road. Nina's friend came too, Jamie. We were talking about where should we go for Halloween, Nina's neighbors had a house party but it didn't seem interesting, because she said it's a party with people in their middle age. The other option just came up in the bar. We saw a sign about 100 dollars prize for the best Halloween custom and the party's ig going to be in the bar on Saturday. Well I thought you could spend 100 dollars too, to get a really good custom so it's not worth it and that bar's like filled up with older (posh) people. But than, Jamie came up with an idea, that we could go to their house party too, so in the end

we decided to go there. We had so much thing to do next day, go to school in the morning, go shopping in the afternoon, get a custom for Halloween, and get a winter coat because it was snowing (!!!). We fortunately found a good place to buy our custom. I bought a devil horn with a red bow and tail which I didn't wear, and Nina got a bunny ears with a a white bow and a bunny tail (so cute). :) And we got winter coats too, I'm so glad about that, because now, it's so cold in the morning and in the evenings.

It was so much fun to go with bus and metro to Jamie's place, everybody was dress up in costumes, there was Elmo and some caracters from Sasame street super heroes, one of my best was Indiana Jones, he looked just like him! The people here are really excited about this holiday, you could never

see the same at home, because of course, we don't celebrate it. So we arrived to the house party, the people were already downstairs at the basement. We didn't know anybody and the party hasn't started yet at the time we arrived. But than after a half hour they turned off the lights and turned on the 'disco' lights and the party started and we started to drink...there was a mixed drink, everybody said it's just juice mixed with beer, and didn't understand, what's the point drinking the beer with juice, if I want to drink beer, I would never mix it. Next day, it turned out there was vodka in that mixed drink too... :) This makes more sense. :D

The party was good, the music was good too, it was a typical american house party, and a black guy showed up, whom nobody knew, just like in the movies. After we got ready we went to Ihop, it's a restaurant, typical american again, with pancakes, omelets, sandwiches, burgers, yummm, but because

I was hangover a little bit I couldn't eat really heavy food, so I choose omelet and we got free pancakes with it. Than it took more than 2 hours to get back with metro and bus.

Than it was monday already, everybody went to work, and at night was time for trick or treating. Kid's favorite part of Halloween. So I stayed home, while the kid's were out to get some treats. :) It was fun wait for kids, see their customs, and give some treats for them.

It was a good experience to see all these, I feel I want to be a part of more like these, just celebrate holidays, I can't wait for Thanksgiving and

I hope I can taste the real american turkey. :P

Getting around in DC is not that complicated but once you walk to the wrong direction...

Metro vs Underground

I spent almost a year in England and I had a chance to visit many places. In London the public transportation was really easy to use, everything was just signed and there was always a map what you can easily use if you feel lost. You could buy a daily travel card what you can use in the underground and on the bus. (It costs about 7-8 Pounds or if you go to London with train you can buy a complex travel card which contains the daily travel card).

Here in DC you could just put as much money on a card as you want and you can use it until it has money on it (at least 1.50 dollar). And you have to pay for the bus separately (1.50 dollar for a 'ride').

The other thing I saw here (and nowhere else) is you can carry your bike around in the city even if you have to use a bus, because every bus has a case in the front so they just put it on there while you're travelling with the bus around.

It's time to think about the future

After I spent a week off and I enjoyed the time in DC and in Pittsburgh I really should think about what I would like to do in my free time. Choose a school and make a driver licence and so on.

What I know is in this year I could do whatever I want so I have to use my time, and do something which is usable for my future. And I don't have to worry about what's going on at home, I can leave those problems at home, and I can concentrate about myself.

This is one of the best opportunities in my life, and I really appreciate it. All this travelling and getting know more about other countries and people opened the world for me. When you're at home, and you don't have a chance to travel or to visit, it's like always just a dream, and you could just imagine what could be on the 'other side'. And even if you are just visiting places for a vacation you won't know all the things about the people and about the country.

But now I feel like I could live everywhere. The only thing is what you have to know is the language.

When I was in museums, I really enjoyed it, I knew it that there is always something to learn about, and it brought the world closer to me. It opens your mind, and you feel like, you learned about these things in the high school, but they didn't tell you everything.

So to make the story short I just wanted to say that I'm ready to learn something new and do something educational! :D

Pittsburgh at night and at daytime

Pittsburgh is a really nice place! The characteristic shape of Pittsburgh's central business district is a triangular tract carved by the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers, which form the Ohio River. The city features 151 high-rise buildings, 446 bridges, two inclined railways, and a pre-revolutionary fortification. 

Pittsburgh is known colloquially as "The City of Bridges" and "The Steel City" for its many bridges and former steel manufacturing base.

I really enjoyed the time there, for two days, I stayed there for two days at the mom's friends house, she was really nice, and I met on the bus on the way there with a guy who was born and raised in Pittsburgh so he told me all the stories about Pittsburgh what you can read in books, and what just those people know who actually lives there. :)

He told me a story about the Heinz Ketchup and about the places in the city where they made the new Batman movie. :) And about Khalifa who sings the song Black and Yellow. (I heard about that music at home, and I really liked it, but I didn't know what is that song about, now I know, and I like it more :P)

I just walked to the downtown in one day, next to the river than trough a bridge, I saw the two stadiums and Science Center, the Aviary, and the churches in the middle of the city (it was interesting when I walked inside and there was so quiet even it was next to a main road with lot of cars).

And we went out to see the nightlife of the city, which was interesting too, with all the girls who were dressing up in short dresses and the pubs with R'n'B music.

So I saw almost everything what you have to see if you are there, and the best was the night view from the hill! Absolutely breathtaking!

I wish I could go back someday and enjoy these things again!
And now I've got a guide book to Pittsburgh with glossary about Pittsburghese (which is words that don't seem to exist anywhere else).  :)

Bevásárló központok és a város - Shopping malls and the city

Egy nap a múzeumban - One day in a museum

Tegnap  elmentem három múzeumba is, a természeti, a amerikai történelmi és a lég- és űrtörténeti múzeumba. :)

Mindhárom csodás volt, és nagyon élveztem! Lélegzetelállító volt a díszítés a hatalmas bálnával, az óriási dinó csontvázakkal és az élethű állat szobrokkal!Csodás volt a lepke (külön egy kis részen élő lepkékkel amik csodálatos színben pompáztak) és bogár részleg is, hatalmas tarantullákkal, vörös hangyákkal, ahogy épp sürögnek forognak és hordják a leveleket. Láttam nagyon jól álcázott imádkozó sáskákat, óriás sáskát, minden nagyon jól megtervezett volt, igazán interaktív élmény! Volt a drágakő részlegnél több mint 22 ezer karátos drágakő, csodálatos volt a gyűjtemény és még Tiffany készletetből is volt egy pár bemutató darab!

Utána következett az amerikai történelmi múzeum, voltak érdekes részlegek, nekem főleg az Amerika mozgásban rész tetszett a legjobban, itt is minden jól megtervezett és interaktív volt, kiállított régi tárgyakkal, autókkal, vonatokkal, metrókkal, villamosokkal, rengeteg érdekes információval!Ami meglepő volt, a tudomány részlegen, ahol különböző meghatározó találmányokat mutattak be, ki volt állítva egy SEGA játék konzol is 1998-ból. :) Már ez is a történelem része! :)

Végül de nem utolsó sorban következett a lég- és űrtörténeti múzeum, hatalmas kiállított repülőgépekkel, az első világháborúból és rengeteg az űrhajózás történetében meghatározó részeletet láthattam, mint fogkefét az apollo-ról :). Ott volt a repülő makett, amivel 1927-ben Charles Lindbergh átrepülte az óceánt  (és a repülőből fent maradt orr aminek a belsejében volt egy Adolph Schmidt név is feltüntetve).

Fantasztikus élmény volt mindhárom múzeum és mindenhol ingyenes a belépő! :)

I went to three museums yesterday, to The National Museum of Natural History, to The National Museum of American History and to the Air and Space History Museum. All of them were amazing and wonderful I really enjoyed it! The decoration was breathtaking, in the Natural History Museum with a huge whale and with a dinosaur bones and skeleton and with a animals which absoultely looked like they are alive. the butterfly collection with hundred and more live butterflies in lot of beautiful colors and the section with bugs and tarantulas and ants, whom were running around with leaves. And there was a room with butterflies in pupa so if you're lucky you could see how the butterfly comes out from its skin. There were mantis which looked like the leaves or a branch. Everything was perfectly designed and interactive! There was a room with gems which were 100, 300 or 22 thousand carat! And they have a collection of Tiffany. :)

Than came The National Museum of American History, it was interesting, my favorite part was America on the move with ships and buses and metros from 1900 till 1999. It was funny to see a SEGA game panel from 1998 in the inventions section. :) It's the part of the history now. And at least but not last, I went to the Air and Space Museum which was the best museum ever!With all the airplanes from the World War I and all the important things from the history of astronautics like a toothbrush from Apollo. :) There was an airplane from 1927 which used Charles Lindbergh to fly over the Ocean.

All of these museums were fantastic and it was free! :D

Ez egy csajos este - It's a girls night out

Elmentünk moziba ma Madisonal. A Bridesmaids-t néztük meg, csak ajánlani tudom! :)
És a hely olyan volt mint egy étterem csak miközben rendelsz, nézheted a filmet is. :D

We went to the cinema tonight with Madison. We watched the Bridesmaids, it was hilarious! :D
And the place was good, it's like a restaurant but you can watch a movie while you order the food. :)

Reggel fél 7 - 6.30 in the morning

Egész este erősen fújt a szél, szerencsére nem történt semmi komoly, mindenki rendben van és a ház is egyben van. Még elég erősen fúj a szél, de a nehezén már túl vagyunk és a gyerekek tegnap a buliban nagyobb rendetlenséget csináltak mint a hurrikán összesen. :)

The wind is still strong, but I think we are over of the worst part and the kids last night made a bigger mess than Irene all together. :D

Ocean City, Maryland (CNN) -- After knocking out power to more than 3 million people and making a second landfall Sunday morning, Irene hurtled toward some of the biggest cities in the Northeast.

Irene slammed into Little Egg Inlet, New Jersey, about 5:30 a.m., the National Hurricane Center said.

Earlier Sunday, the hurricane pummeled Ocean City, Maryland while en route to New York City, threatening to flood parts of Manhattan and bring the bustling city to a virtual standstill.

Some sections of Ocean City were without power, and officials stopped sending vehicles to respond to 911 calls after winds topped 50 mph, said Bob Rhode of the city's office of emergency management.

But Ocean City appears to have endured the blows without any major damage. While Irene dumped 11 inches of rain by early Sunday morning, there was no major flooding.

By 5 a.m. ET Sunday, Irene was about 15 miles south-southeast of Atlantic City, New Jersey, and about 115 miles south-southwest of New York City, according to the National Hurricane Center. It was moving north-northeast at 18 mph and carried maximum sustained winds of 75 mph.

Powerful gusts were so strong that pedestrians struggled to stay upright. Storm surges along the East Coast turned at least one beach into an extension of the ocean.

A nuclear power reactor in Calvert Cliffs, Maryland, automatically went offline late Saturday after a piece of aluminum siding from a building struck a transformer amid strong winds.

"The facility is safe; there is no impact to employees or our neighbors," said Mark Sullivan, spokesman for the Constellation Energy Nuclear Group. "There is no threat."

In New Jersey, ferocious winds blew tree branches horizontally. But George Nikolis of Jersey City insisted on riding out the storm.

"You only see something like this maybe once every 25 years, and I wanted to be here to capture this historic moment," Nikolis said.

Officials have blamed at least 10 deaths on Irene.

Five people died as a result of the storm in North Carolina, and three were killed in Virginia due to falling trees, emergency officials said.

Irene sets sights on Virginia

Ocean City, Maryland (CNN) - North Carolina and Virginia dealt with widespread power outages, flooding, deaths and damage Saturday as Hurricane Irene continued its northward trek along the East Coast, with Norfolk, Virginia, and the Hampton Roads area next in its sights.
Nearly 1 million power customers were without electricity in North Carolina and Virginia because of the storm Saturday afternoon, according to state and utility reports. More than a million people had evacuated from New Jersey alone.
Irene made landfall about 7:30 a.m. Saturday near Cape Lookout, North Carolina, according to the National Hurricane Center, ripping off roofs and causing other damage to homes and businesses in Hyde and Jones counties in North Carolina, according to the state emergency management agency.
Heavy rain and a flooding storm surge cut off thousands of residents in Beaufort, Carteret and Pamlico counties, the state Emergency Management Agency reported.

Elkezdődött - It started

Reggel néztük a híradót, már közeledik, mindent elöntött már a víz Észak Carolinában.

Már itt is esik az eső.

Elmentünk még reggel a boltba bevásárolni egy két dolgot. Este ünnepeljük az anyuka születésnapját, valószínűleg csak a szomszédok jönnek majd.

Aranyos volt reggel a 3 éves kisfiú, azt mondta adjak neki egy nagy ölelés és puszit, szegény biztos fél a vihartól, nem tudja még ő sem mi lesz :)

Reggel volt egy jó kis beszélgetésük az anyukával:

Anyuka: Idd meg a tejet. Nem szeretném, ha pazarolnád, mert lehet hogy nem tudunk többet venni amíg a hurrikán tart.

Kisfiú: A hurrikán meg fogja inni az összes tejet?

We watched the news in the morning, it's coming, it flooded the streets in  North Carolina.

It started to rain here too.

We went to the grocery store in the morning to buy some things for the night. We're going to celebrate the mom's birthday tonight and the neighborhood going to come too.

The 3-years.old was so cute in the morning, he gave me a big hug and a kiss, he must be scared from the storm, he doesn't know, what will happen. And he had a conversatin with his mom in the morning:

Mom: "Drink your milk. I don't want you to waste any because we might not be able to get any more due to the Hurricane."

3-years-old: "The hurricane is going to drink ALL the milk?"

Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina (CNN) -- Somewhat weakened but still ferocious, Hurricane Irene slammed into the North Carolina coast Saturday morning, drenching the coastline and starting an ominous northward march almost certain to bring misery to millions.

The massive Category 1 hurricane made landfall near Cape Lookout around 7:30 a.m. with top sustained winds of 85 miles per hour, thrashing sand and water in every direction.

By mid-morning, Irene appeared as a giant atmospheric saw-blade swirling over the entire East Coast on the National Hurricane Center's radar.

Hurricane warnings remained in effect from North Carolina to New York to Nantucket.

After the earhtquake comes the hurricane

(CNN) - Everyone on the East Coast knew Thursday that monstrous Irene, energizing over bathtub-warm ocean waters, was heading toward them, posing the biggest hurricane threat to the United States in six years.

What they did not know was the exact path of the storm. So people along a 700-mile stretch of the Atlantic Seaboard were, as North Carolina Gov. Bev Perdue put it, preparing for the worst and praying for the best.

There was even a possibility that the storm, which could reach Category 4 status, could slam into Manhattan, causing concerns about soaring skyscrapers and underground tunnels.

A state of emergency has already been declared in Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Connecticut and parts of North Carolina in anticipation of Irene.

Fears were perhaps greatest in North Carolina and Virginia and on the slivers of islands that extend off those coastlines, which could start feeling Irene's punch by Friday evening.

The powerful Category 3 storm, now battering the Bahamas with sustained winds of 115 mph, is forecast to pound much of the eastern United States starting early Saturday.

A földrengés napján

Egy átlagos napnak indult a mai. Reggel kelés, aztán elkészülni a napra, és mehet minden a maga megszokott útján. Hamar eljött a délután is, a picit lefektettem aludni, a nagyobbal pedig lent játszottunk az alagsorban.
És akkor hirtelen nagy zörejt hallottam, robajlás, mint amikor hatalmas kamionok húznak el az úton házak mellett. Majd remegni kezdett a ház.
Nem is gondoltam valami különleges dologra, azt hittem tényleg csak egy nagyobb autó. Utána gondoltam, ez annál több lehet, mert sokkal jobban remeg a ház és nagyobb a zaj. Sokkot kaptam, nem tudtam hirtelen mit tegyek, csak a kisfiú kérdezte, hogy mi ez, én pedig annyit mondtam: nem tudom.
Majd hirtelen csend. Gyorsan kimentünk a házból a gyerekekkel és az anyukával. Mindenki az utcán volt már.  A boltot kiürítették.
Minden nagyon gyorsan történt, és amilyen gyorsan jött olyan gyorsan túl is voltunk rajta. Mehetett minden megint tovább. Csak az érzés és a gondolatok maradtak, mi lett volna ha.

Most pedig néhány nappal később készülhetünk a földrengést követő hurrikánra. Nem tudom még csak elképzelni sem milyen lesz. Nincs bennem félelem vagy feszültség, nem tudom mire számíthatok. De bízom benne, hogy ez után is minden olyan rendben lesz, mint ha nem is történt volna semmi.

When the earthquake came

It was an ordinary day. Wake up in the morning, get ready for the day and everything goes in  the same way. It was already afternoon, I put the younger one to bed for a nap and I played with the older one downstairs in the basement.

And than suddenly it was a rumble like when a huge truck goes by the houses. And the house started to shake.

I didn’t think about that something serious is happening, I thought it was just actually a big car. Then I thought it couldn’t be, it’s much bigger than that, because it’s much louder and the house shaked really strong.

I was shocked. I didn’t know what to do, the 3-years-old asked me what is this and the only thing that I could say was that I don’t know.

And then it was silence. We went out from the house really quick, with the kids and with the mom. Everybody was outside, the store was evacuated.

Everything happened really fast and as fast as it came it was gone in the next second. And everything was the same like it was before. Only the feelings and thoughts remained, what could have happend.

And now, a few days later, we have to be prepared for Hurricane Irene. I can’t even imagine what it’ll be. I’m not afraid, I don’t feel anything, I don’t know what I should expect. But I hope everything’s going to be the same after this, like it was before.

Egy új hajnal, egy új nap, egy új élet és jól érzem magam ;)

Szerencsére elég gyorsan sikerült elintézni, hogy megkapjam a social security number-t ahhoz hogy tudjak suliba jelentkezni és intézni bármit amit szeretnék, így egy kicsit pozitívabban állok hozzá a dolgokhoz és jobban megnyíltak a lehetőségek.

Hétvégi program: kerti parti a szomszédban!

Egy kis betekintést nyerhettem az igazi amerikai kerti partiba ahol rengeteg ember jött össze, nagyon sok finom, változatos kajával találkozhattam és sok történetet hallgathattam!

Természetesn a legjobb rész az ismerkedés volt, nem csak a rákkal és hogy hogyan kell szakszerűen kibontani és megtalálni a legfinomabb részt, hanem új emberekkel, és potenciális új barátokkal. :)

Nagyon élveztem hogy új emberek vesznek körül és egy kicsit beszélgethetek másokkal és kiszakadhatok a megszokott környezetből.

A szomszédok akinél voltunk, az utca végén laknak, nagyon kedvesek, van négy lányuk, a kissebbek 3 évesek és ikrek. Ők jöttek át hozzánk legutóbbi pénteken is, az ikreknek nagyon tetszettem. :)

Jó volt látni, hogy amíg a gyerekek élvezték a nagy kertet és körbe körbe szaladgáltak addig mi nyugodtan beszélgethettünk egymással és ismerkedhettem.

Van is egy lány aki nem messze lakik tőlünk alig egy pár utcára, remélem vele majd többször is el tudunk menni mindenfelé. :)

Ma pedig az apuka befejezte a kertben egy kis faépítményt, amit a gyerekeknek készített. A legjobb dolog az volt az egészben, hogy épp ma reggel gondolgodott azon, hogy milyen jó lenne egy csúzdát szerezni hozzá, és láss csodát, az egyik utcai kiárusításon (yard sale) sikerült is beszerezni egy szuper jót, sőt még mászófalat is sikerült szerezni. Csak a jó helyen kellett lenni a jó időben.

A gyerekek imádják, egész nap csak azon játszottak volna! :)

Mostmár van egy saját ki játszóterük a hátsó kertben!Hát nem szuper?

It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life for me, and I'm feeling good :) (Michael Buble - I'm feeling good)

I got my social security card now, it didn't take too long to get it, now I can sign up for a school and make a driver licence and do everything what I need. Now I can plan what I would like to do, and I'm really looking forward to start it. :)

Program for the weekend: grill party at our neighbor's house!

It was really nice to get into this really typical american garden party, where lot of people got together and I had a chance to taste lot of different type of food and meet with lot of people and listen to their stories!

Of course the best part was to get to know more people and meet with them and to learn how to open and find the best part in a crab. :)

I really enjoyed that I could meet with others and be surrounded by other people and I could talk to them so I could be just outside a little bit from the house.

Our neighbor, where we went, they live in the end of the street and they are so lovely and friendly. They have four kids, two of them are twins and they are 3 years old. They came to our house last weekend, the twins like me a lot. :)

It was a great picture about the kids running around in the backyard, having fun, while we were sitting and had a chat with each other and I could make some new friends.

There is a girl who lives near in the area, so I hope we could hang out together a lot. :)

And the best thing what happened today was that the hostfather finished the fort in our backyard which he made for the kids. He was thinking about  in the morning to put a slide on it, and we were lucky, because we found a yard sale where was a perfect slide to the fort and a climbing wall too and he got it there really quickly (it wasn't that far away though) and got both, the slide and the climbing wall too. :D He was just in the right place in the right time.

The kids love it and they had so much fun on it!They have their own playground now!It is cool, isn't it?

Az első napok - The first days

Több mint egy hete vagyok itt és holnap lesz egy hete hogy a családnál vagyok.

A gyerekek ismernek és én is ismerem őket, így egy kicsit könnyebb a helyzet, szóval azért nagyjából tudom kezelni a helyzeteket.

Volt egy pár program, múlt pénteken volt egy kis grill party, elég sok gyerek volt és kb. mindenkire figyelhettem, egyébként aranyosak voltak a gyerekek, csak a végére elfáradtam picit.

Aztán szombaton találkozó a többi au pair-el a koordinátorunk házában (ami mellesleg elég jól néz ki).

Ma pedig voltunk meccset nézni, a szülők játszottak softball-t, én meg addig a gyerekekre vigyáztam, el is fáradtam teljesen nap végére.

Már pár napja jár az agyam, hogy mit fogok csinálni, mit kéne tanulni és hasonlók, és persze mindig eszembe jutottak az otthoniak és hogy nem tudok velük minden nap beszélni.

Nehéz így az első hetekben, alig van akivel beszélhetnék, vagy akivel elmehetnék bárhova. Egyedül érzem magam és rossz arra gondolni, hogy nem tarthatom a kapcsolatot minden nap azokkal akiket szeretek. Kicsit olyan, hogy nem vagy része a másik életének és mintha már nem ismernéd annyira a másikat.

A távolság nagy, ez tény, remélem azért talán még kezelhető, de majd az élet úgyis eldönti.

I've been here for more than a week and it's been a week that I'm with the family.
The kids know me and I know them, so it makes the things a little bit easier.
There were some events: a grill party on last Friday, there was many kids, so I had to watch them a little bit, they were really sweet, but in the end I was a little bit tired.
Then we had a meeting on Saturday afternoon with the other au pairs in our coordinators house (which was really nice).
Yesterday we went to watch the parents while they were playing softball, and I watched the kids so in the end of the day I just went straight to bed and sleep.
I've been thinking about what should I do in this year while I'm here, where to go to school, and my family and my friends are always in my mind and it's really hard that I can't talk with them every day.
It's hard, because I can't talk with almost anybody, or go out with anybody. I feel a little bit lonely, it's hard to think about that I can't keep in touch every day with whom I really love and who are far away from here.
It's a little bit like you're not part of their life like you don't know the other one as much anymore.
The distance between us is big, this is a fact, I hope I could still handle it, but life or time could decide it.

Itt a búcsú ideje - It's time to say good bye

Jó volt ez a pár nap amit együtt tölthettünk, sokat nevettünk, sokat tanultunk, sokat beszélgettünk és beszélgettünk és beszélgettünk. :)

Gyorsan eltelt ez a pár és itt volt az idő, hogy búcsút mondjunk és mindenki tovább utazzon a családokhoz.

Igaz nem sok időt töltöttünk együtt, de egész jó barátságok születtek ezalatt a pár nap alatt.

Alig fogtam fel, hogy itt vagyok és már a családnál is voltam. A ház ahol laknak csodás és jó nagy. :) A szülők és a gyerekek szerencsére nem változtak, így nem sok meglepetés ért az első két napban. Szinte minden ugyanolyan, csak a helyszín változott. A gyerekek örültek az érkezésemnek, vártak már nagyon, izgatottak voltak. :)

Egy külön kis szobám is van, tv-vel, fürdővel, előszobával, sőt még van egy másik szoba ahol vendégeimet szállásolhatom el, ha úgy alakul.

Egy hét telt el amióta itt vagyok, lassan kezdem elhinni, hogy tényleg itt vagyok. Kellett néhány nap, mert hiába néztem a kijelzőt a repülőn, hogy hol repülünk éppen vagy jártuk a várost a hét elején, a szememmel láttam mindent, de kellett egy ki idő, amíg fel is fogtam, hogy eljöttem ilyen messzire. :D

Rengeteg tervem van, jó lesz majd elkezdeni a sulit is, letenni a jogsit, megismerkedni új emberekkel és megismerni a környéket. Jó kis kaland lesz! És örülök, hogy ilyen jó csládhoz kerültem, azt hiszem szerencsés vagyok.

These few days were really good, that we could spend together, we laughed a lot and learned a lot and of course talked a lot and a lot and a lot with each other. :)

The time is passing by really fast, these few days are already gone, it was time to say good bye to each other and move on to other places and to the families.

Maybe it wasn't that much time that we could spend together, but I think we made some good relationship with each other in these few days.

It had just hit me that I'm here, when I was at my family. The house where they live is wonderful and big. :) The parents and the kids hasn't changed so there was nothing special or surprising in the first two days. Everything's the same just a place changed. The kids were really happy about my coming and they were excited too. :)

I have my own room with a tv and with a bathroom and I have a living room too where the kids could play too and they have an other room for me for my guests.

So it's been a week from now that I'm here and it's still hard to believe it, now I'm starting to, I think. :) It took a few days to get used to it, to be here. I was just looking at things like the screen on the airplane which showed us where are we or walked in the city and see all the things, I saw everything with my eyes, but I needed  a little time to comprehend it and believe it that I'm here and I came this far.

I have a few plans, it will be good to get start the school make the driving licence, to get to know other people and the area. It'll be a good adventure and I'm glad that we found each other with my family and I think I'm lucky. 

Ismerkedés - Let's get together ;)

A hotelba érkezés után, este 11-kor már elég fáradtak voltunk. Épp hogy elkezdtünk kipakolni, és készülni hogy ágyba bújjunk, amikor kopogást hallottunk az ajtón.

Egy kedves nő és egy fiatal lány lépett be a szobánkba, majd kiderült, hogy ő lesz a harmadik szobatársunk, egy lány Costa Rica-ból, a neve pedig Monica. :)

Mindannyian fáradtak voltunk, így hamar ágybe dőltünk és nem telt két percbe hogy elaldujunk.

Reggel fél 8-kor ismét kelés, majd reggeli és tréning, megtanultuk hogyan kell kezelni a gyerekeket, átvettünk szinte minden korosztályt.

A reggeli tipikus amerikai reggelinek számított: rántotta, szalonna, sült krumpli, palacsinta és hasonló finomságok. Mindenki bemutatkozott, elmondta honnan jött és hány gyerekre fog vigyázni.

Majd jöhetett a kiképzés első napja. Délután 3-ra már végeztünk is.

Az érdekesebb rész délután következett, séta a városban, és ismerkedés a többiekkel. Voltak sokan Németországból, meg Kolumbiából, volt aki Kínából illetve Svédországból volt aki Costa Rica-ról érkezett. :)

Mindenkinek ez az első élménye itt az Egyessült Államokban. És mindenkinek más oka volt, hogy ide jött, és ezt az utat választotta. Jó volt hallgatni a történeteket, és megosztani az első közös élményeket.

Megnéztük közösen a főbb nevezetességeket, fehér ház, emlékművek...szóval nap végére el is fáradtunk teljesen a sok gyaloglástól és a meleg időtől.

Este pedig kipróbáltuk a medencét a hotelban, ahol jó volt megmártózni a hosszú nap után, ugye csajok?

After we arrived to the hotel, at 11pm, we were really tired. We just started to unpack our stuff and get ready for bed, when somedoby knocked on the door.

A nice woman and a young girl stepped into our room, and she was our third roommate, she is from Costa Rica and her name is Monica.(good morning, szeretlek, mwuahhh ;) )

All of us were really tired, so went to bed and it took just 2 minutes to fall asleep.

we had to wake up at 7.30am, then we had a breakfast and then we went to the training and we learned how to handle the kids in every ages.

The breakfast was a typical american breakfast: scrambled eggs, bacon, french fries, pancakes and these kind of stuff. Everybody introduced itself, and said where are they come from and how many kids are they gonna take care of.

And then started the first day of the training. And it ended at 3pm. :) It wasn't that long, we had to just listen while Chris was just talking, talking, talking....

The interesting part started in the afternoon, when we went out, and we a started to get to know each other. There were people from Germany, Columbia, China, Sweden and from Costa Rica. :D

This is the first experience for everyone in the US and everybody has a different reason to come here, and choose this road in their life. It was good to listen to this stories and share the oppinions and the first experiences here.

We were at the Capitol and at the White House, and at the Monument, and at the World War 2 memorial and so on, so in the end of the day, everybody was really tired after a long walk and because of the hot weather.
So before we went to bed, we tried the pool in the hotel, and it was really nice to spend a little time there in the water, after a long day, right girls? ;)

Utazás, érkezés - Travelling and arrival

Budapest  - London - Washington

A döntés megszületett, a papírok elintézve, most már csak utazni kell.

Terv: reggeli Budapesten, ebéd Londonban, vacsora Washingtonban.

Ébredés korán reggel, indulás a géppel Londonba.

Érzések: izgatott, kicsit szomorú, kicsit ideges.

Szerencsére nem egyedül utaztam, hanem kedves új barátommal, Ninával. Így Londonban a reptéren jót dumáltunk, néztük az embereket hogy jönnek mennek, és együtt töltöttük első közös ebédünket a Giraffe-ban és együtt vártuk izgatottan, hogy felszállhassunk A NAGY gépre és megtegyük életünk első 8 órás útját repülővel az óceán felett. :)

A gépre feljutva végig kellett mennünk egészen a végéig, így láthattuk az első osztályt az elején kényelmes székekkel, nagy kijelzőkkel, majd elfoglaltuk mi a helyünket. A legvégén az utolsó üléseken, az ablak mellett a jobb oldalon. :)

Kicsit fárasztó volt 8 órán keresztül utazni, de gyönyörködhettünk a felhőkben, és nézhettünk filmeket. Természetesen kaptunk főételt és szendvicseket. Sokszor azért megijedtem amikor kicsit jobban megrázkódott a gép, de végül szerencsésen megérkeztünk, bár majdnem egy órás késéssel.

Már este 9 óra is volt, mikor odaértünk az ellenőrzéshez, és beállhattunk a sorba. csupán háromnegyed óra várakozás és sorra is kerültünk. Néhány kérdés, egy kép, és mehettünk is a csomagokhoz.

Szerencsére kijöttek értünk és el is jutottunk hamar a hotelhoz, ahol csütörtök délig maradtunk.

Feladat teljesítve!

Budapest - London - Washington

The decision is made, the paperworks are done, now comes the travelling.

Plan: breakfast in Budapest, lunch in London and dinner in Washington.

So I had to wake up early, then it was time to fly to London.

Feelings: excited, a little bit sad, and a little bit nervous.

I didn't travell on my own, I was with my really nice new friend, Nina. :) So we had a nice chat in London, and watched the people coming and passing by, and it was our first lunch that we spent together in Giraffe and we were excited to get on THE BIG plane and have our first 8 hours flight over the Ocean. :)

So after we got on the plane, we had to go to the end of it, and we had a chance to see the first class in the front with nice comfortable chairs and big screens. Our seats were in the end of the plane, the last two chairs, next to the window on the right side.

It was a little bit exhausting to travel 8 hours, but we had a good view to the clouds, and we could watch movies. We had a chicken paella on the way and sandwiches. I was a little bit scared because of the turbulence, but we landed safely in the end with an hour delay.

It was 9pm, when we got to the checking points, and we had to queue for more than a half an hour. There, at the checking points, they asked some questions, made a picture, and then we could get our bags.

They came to pick us up from the airport and bring us to the hotel, where we stayed till Thursday noon.

Mission completed!
